Something of great significance has just arrived on earth, and it is past due. Just as thirty-six-year old graphic designer Trevin Lambrose decides he needs much more from his unfulfilling life, he unexpectedly becomes the first to witness a shimmering anomaly. Suddenly, his head is filled with happy memories of childhood parties, good friends, and unconditional love. As the anomaly quietly disappears, Trevin has no idea he is slowly inching closer to a truth that will shake the entire world. He is already dealing with the stress of living in Chicago, away from family during a crushing recession, strife besieging the planet. Open to change of every kind, Trevin seeks solace and understanding from his new enigmatic and nostalgic girlfriend, Constance Summerlin, as he questions why he is unexpectedly turning to his memories for comfort. He is desperate for something-anything-to take his worries away. But when a violent impetus sets Trevin on a visit to reconnect with his past, he soon realizes that Constance is his saving grace. In this poignant tale, Trevin is about to open a new chapter on humanity that reveals a monumental truth. The future always embraces the past.
I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. Mr. Elliotts’s impressive imagination takes us into the realm of the unexplainable, while giving us faith and hope for our own uncertain future. Well done!
Timothy J Elliott has put together a very moving story. I read this book in only a few days. From the first page to the last, I was hooked. The main character Trevin is a charming young gentleman, struggling in tough times. You can't help but wish for him his "better days." The ending was a great surprise, as were many parts of the story. As a matter of fact, it took me a day to recover from the reading, reflecting on my own past. The story makes you think of the unknown and all the mysteries of the world, and how little control we actually have in life. I think a lot of people will be able to connect to this story in their own way; reflecting on what has happened to our planet versus what we choose to remember from perceived rosier times. It is beautifully written, and played out like a movie in my head. I would highly recommend this novel! I am looking forward to reading more from this author/artist. What a talented man; the cover art is also illustrated by him.
Tim Elliot has hit the grand slam home run with his new novel, NO BETTER DAY. His command of the English language and great story telling is refreshing! The book is thought provoking and "grabs hold of you" and never lets go. I could not put this novel down and I read it in a very short period of time. To me, this is the sign of a great book. The story is wonderful and Mr. Elliot weaves a cruller of a tale that comes to an uplifting conclusion. Superb writing from a refreshing new author. Kudos to Timothy Elliot and I look forward to reading more from this exciting new literary talent!
